Safe glass railings

Our glass railings combine safety, a modern appearance, and easy maintenance, creating an open and light-filled space.

High-quality and stylish glass railings

We offer high-quality and stylish glass railing solutions that enhance both the appearance and functionality of your terrace or balcony. A railing is required when the fall height from a level surface, such as a terrace, exceeds 50 cm and there is a risk of falling.

We design and install both post-mounted and post-free glass railings. These systems provide a clean and modern solution for protecting terraces and balconies. Our balcony railings are designed to meet all current safety regulations and official requirements.

Each railing is individually designed for the specific site by our experienced planning team. This ensures that all railings meet the required strength and safety standards for everyday use.

Technical specifications of glass railings

Material

Two separate tempered glass panels are laminated together, combining the best properties of tempered and laminated glass. Tempered glass provides high impact resistance and flexibility. In the event of breakage, the glass remains bonded to the laminated interlayer, preventing fall-through.

Thickness

Glass thickness depends on the railing system and the level of structural demand. Post-mounted railings typically use 8 mm glass, while post-free railing systems use 16 mm glass.

Fixing

Vertical posts are fixed to the floor structure, and end sections are fixed to wall structures. Fixing is carried out using appropriate fasteners according to load calculations. Face-mounted installation to the edge of the structure is also possible.

Profile types

Several profile types are available depending on the intended use. We will explain the available options in more detail during the design visit.

Glass tints

A wide range of glass tints is available with laminated glass options. Tinting is typically achieved using a coloured interlayer between the glass panels. Mass-tinted glass types can also be used, allowing for an even broader range of colour options. Further details are provided during the design visit.

Benefits of glass railings

Esteetön näkymä

Clear views

Post-free glass railings provide clear views of the surrounding landscape. When vertical posts are used, they are slim in design, minimizing their impact on the field of view.

Karkaistu lasi

Safety

When tempered and laminated glass is used, glass railings are highly durable and safe. In the event of breakage, the glass remains bonded to the laminated interlayer, preventing shards from spreading and reducing the risk of injury.

Moderni ilme

Modern appearance

Glass railings create a modern and visually clean protective structure. Laminated railing glass blocks up to 99 percent of UV radiation. This makes laminated glass an excellent choice for areas where protection of both people and interior elements is important. Reducing UV exposure helps prevent fading and wear of furniture, curtains, and other interior surfaces.

Easy maintenance

Glass surfaces are easy to keep clean and withstand varying weather conditions well. No special cleaning agents are required. The glass can be cleaned using standard glass cleaner and a cloth.

Glass railing pricing

Several factors affect the final price. Post-free railings are generally more expensive due to the use of thicker glass. The total length in linear metres and overall material usage have a significant impact on cost. Clear glass is the most cost-effective option, while the use of tinted glass in railing structures does not significantly increase the price.

Staircase railings require shaped glass panels, which are more expensive. If a crane is required for installation, this will increase labour costs.

Fixing materials also influence pricing. Fixing to concrete is fast and efficient when using chemical anchors and appropriate fasteners. Fixing to timber structures is carried out using through-bolting and, depending on the site, may take more time. As each project is unique, we recommend requesting a quote so we can provide pricing tailored specifically to your project.
