Balcony glazing is made from tempered safety glass. Finnish-made balcony glazing is designed to withstand long-term use, making it a reliable choice for both new construction and renovation projects. CE-marked and tested by VTT, the systems meet all safety requirements and can reduce a home’s energy consumption by up to 6 percent, depending on the ratio of balcony size to the apartment’s wall area.
Technical specifications of balcony glazing
Glass thickness
6 mm to 12 mm tempered safety glass. The glazing can also be installed from floor to ceiling, up to a height of 3200 mm.
Profiles
Top and bottom tracks are made of thick-walled aluminium and can be fixed to a railing or directly to the floor. Several profile options are available. Please refer to the technical drawings for more details.
Operation
Individual glass panels slide along the tracks and pivot to the side like the pages of a book. A one-hand opening mechanism is available to make operation easier.
Sound insulation
Reduces noise by approximately 16 to 18 dB. Sound insulation can be improved by installing an additional sealing strip between the glass panels.
Ventilation
Ventilation gaps of 2 to 3 mm between the glass panels. A transparent sealing strip is available if required. Please note that installing additional seals will significantly reduce ventilation within the space.
Safety standards
Tempered safety glass. Wind load resistance according to EN 12211, 1200 Pa, Class 2. Impact test according to EN 12600, 200 mm, Class 1.
Installation options
Can be installed on top of a railing or as a full-height system from floor to ceiling.
